7 ways to improve stress, anxiety and sleep

🙏 7 ways to improve stress, anxiety and sleep 🙏

💚 Watch what you eat
Eating too many refined carbs, sugar, gluten, caffeine and heavily processed foods can aggravate anxiety and sleeplessness.

Eat food rich in magnesium (like bananas, avocado and dark chocolate) as it is the most important mineral for relaxing and helping calm the nervous system.

💚 Laugh
Laughing causes endorphins (brain chemicals which help you feel better) to be released. Get on the phone with a friend who makes you laugh or stick on your favourite comedy.

💚 Get sufficient exercise
Moving your body will reduce levels of the body’s stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol. It also stimulates the production of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers and mood elevators

💚 Meditate
Even just 5 minutes of meditation can be helpful to clear and refresh your mind. Get into the habit of adding this to your day.

💚 Show your pet some love
Playing with or petting an animal is shown in studies to reduce production of the stress hormone cortisol, and to increase the stress-busting, feel good hormone oxytocin.

💚 Get lost in a book
A University of Sussex study found that reading can reduce stress by up to 68% and effects can be felt after as little as 6 minutes.

💚 Enjoy the good stuff
Focus on the good in your life – gratitude can help improve mental health and wellbeing and ease anxiety, stress and depression as well as help you sleep more soundly.
